Horses of Hoofprint Bay competitions
Horses of Hoofprint Bay has three competition disciplines held in the nearby town: Caprilli tests, show jumping, and cross country. Competitions pay prize money and raise Prestige; failing them, or competing on a dirty horse or without suitable clothing, can lower it. Cross country is described as a late-game challenge for horses with high strength and endurance.
| Discipline | What the developer says |
|---|---|
| Caprilli test | Listed alongside show jumping as an existing discipline; also included in the October 2026 demo |
| Show jumping | Jumping courses in the arena for prize money |
| Cross country | Added in 2026; sometimes lets you pick a shorter route with harder obstacles or a longer route with easier jumps, depending on the horse's remaining strength |
Coaching help
A staff member named Maria, a retired competition rider, can be hired. According to the developer she tells you what to do differently during training for difficult jumps and combinations.
Horses need enough strength and confidence from training to qualify for events, so competition progress is tied to the care and training loop.
