Breeding in Horses of Hoofprint Bay lets you improve your herd over generations. Foals inherit a mix of their parents' coat colors, white patterns and personality traits, so pairing a stallion and mare is a choice between looks, stats, or both. A late-game breeding station lab can preview possible foals and lets you sell more stud services.

Personality traits
Horse personality traits were one of the most requested features after the first demo. The developer says they shape existing mechanics instead of adding new ones, for example making some horses dirtier faster or more prone to certain issues.
